Haiwaan Trailer Arrives August 25, Akshay Kumar Goes Dark

The trailer of Haiwaan, one of the most anticipated Bollywood thrillers of the season, will arrive online on Tuesday, August 25, according to information shared with Bollywood Hungama by a source close to the production.

What the trailer is expected to reveal

The film’s teaser, out since August 12, offered only glimpses of its dark, tense world. A follow-up song, Mere Hero Hai Woh, shed light on an important emotional thread in the story. The trailer is expected to go considerably further, opening up the central conflict and the intriguing equation between the characters played by Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, while finally giving the rest of the ensemble its due. The makers are said to be extremely confident about how the asset has turned out.

Directed by Priyadarshan, Haiwaan carries a packed supporting cast: Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Rajesh Sharma, Pahal Chaudhary and Manoj Joshi.

Priyadarshan on his two leads

The director has been effusive about his stars in recent interactions. Discussing Saif Ali Khan’s role as a blind man, he recalled telling him to keep his eyes open while believing he could not see, an instruction Saif admitted he had never heard before. The filmmaker said the actor simply listened, understood and delivered beyond expectation, making the character entirely his own.

His read on Akshay Kumar was blunter still. The character is not grey, Priyadarshan clarified; he is a full-on psycho. Decades of working together have built a level of trust that lets Akshay perform without repeatedly questioning his director, which shows on screen, he suggested.

Haiwaan marks the second Priyadarshan-Akshay pairing to reach audiences this year, following their horror comedy Bhooth Bangla earlier in 2026. The tonal distance between the two could hardly be greater, swinging from broad laughs to psychological menace.

A release date for the film itself has not been locked publicly, though the trailer should firm up the road ahead. For fans of the Akshay-Saif pairing that goes back to the 1990s, the promise of the two sharing the frame again, in a story where their dynamic drives the mystery, is reason enough to mark August 25 down.
