Dev Kharoud, born Davinder Singh Kharoud on April 22, 1976, in Patiala, Punjab, India, is a prominent Indian actor known for his contributions to Punjabi cinema. He pursued his education at Punjabi University in Patiala, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Dev Kharoud Career
Kharoud began his artistic journey as a theatre artist, collaborating with notable directors such as Balraj Pandit, Rajesh Sharma, and Samuel John. His early work included performances in Punjabi television serials, including “Agg De Kalire,” “Alhna,” “Jugnu Mast Mast,” “Asan Hun Tur Jana,” “June 85,” “Koi Pathar Se Na Maare,” “Roop Basant,” and “Khada Pita Barbaad Kita.”
In 2013, Kharoud gained significant attention for his role in the film “Sadda Haq,” where he portrayed a character inspired by Balwant Singh Rajoana. His breakthrough came with the portrayal of Rupinder Gandhi in “Rupinder Gandhi – The Gangster..?” (2015) and its sequel “Rupinder Gandhi 2 – The Robinhood” (2017). He further solidified his position in the industry with his lead role in “Dakuan Da Munda” (2018), based on the autobiography of gangster-turned-writer Mintu Gurusaria.
