In a short span of years, Love Gill has travelled a long road: from small-town Punjab to music-video fame, from a Zee Punjabi TV lead to a Bollywood-adjacent reality stage. Born Lovepreet Kaur Gill, the actress and model is one of the most talked-about names in Pollywood right now — and after entering Bigg Boss 20 in September 2026 via the “Fans Ka Faisla” twist, her fanbase has gone truly national.

Here’s everything you need to know about Love Gill — her age, family, education, movies, music videos and what’s next.

Love Gill was born on 20 December 1996 in Tarn Taran Sahib, Amritsar, Punjab. She belongs to a Sikh family and completed her schooling in Punjab before graduating from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. She has a brother who stays away from the limelight; Love has always kept her family life private.

Acting was never a casual plan. “I had this unshakable dream to become an actor since my childhood,” she has said, adding that she entered the industry “out of sheer passion and desire to achieve a remarkable milestone as an actor.”

Like many Punjabi stars, Love started with modelling. Her first major breakthrough came in 2019 with Karan Aujla’s music video “Facts”, which put her in front of a massive Punjabi music audience almost overnight.

The video opened doors: Love went on to appear in a string of popular Punjabi music videos, including:

• Rakhdi (2021)
• I’M Enough (2022)
• Peg Sheg and Bhulna Chaunde Ni (2023)
• Sarpanchi and Gift (2024)
• Try (2025)

Work with nearly every major name in Punjabi music turned Love Gill from a fresh face into a familiar one.

In 2020, Love made her acting debut with the short film Doonga Daria, but it was her lead role as Zarina in Zee Punjabi’s Tu Patang Main Dor (aired 2020–2022, opposite Kirpal Singh) that made her a household name in Punjab. The TV show gave her something music videos rarely can — space to build a character over episodes, and a loyal daily viewership that remembered her name.

Love Gill’s Punjabi film debut came in 2021 with Kuriyan Jawan Bapu Pareshaan, in which she played the lead character Sandy Sharma alongside Karamjit Anmol and Gurpreet Ghuggi. The film established her as a leading lady, not just a model-turned-actress.

Since then, her filmography has grown steadily:

Vekhi Ja Chhedi Na in particular is widely seen as the film that turned Love Gill from a promising newcomer into a leading Punjabi actress, and her 2025 run — three releases in one year — proved her versatility across comedy and drama.

In September 2026, Love Gill stepped into the Bigg Boss 20 house, hosted by Salman Khan. Her entry came through the season’s “Fans Ka Faisla” twist, where viewers chose between Love and Rhiya Ahir — and Love won the audience vote.

Her arrival drew immediate comparisons to Shehnaaz Gill, another Punjabi actress who became a national sensation through Bigg Boss. Love already has something similar to offer: a strong Punjabi connect, a loyal regional fanbase, and a relatable, camera-friendly personality. Early reports have named her one of the season’s strong contestants.

For Love, the show is a chance to introduce herself to a audience far beyond Punjab — exactly the kind of leap she once described as her goal.

Despite her rising fame, Love remains rooted. In earlier interviews she said her “final goal is to promote Punjab and its culture at a global level,” and that working in the South Indian film industry is her “ultimate dream and reason behind pursuing acting as a career.”

She’s also been candid about how the industry has changed: “With more opportunities and social media witnessing a massive boom, it is getting tougher for newcomers to find a foothold. Now, aspirants are not getting differentiated between content creators and artists. If you have core perseverance, you can get a chance here.”

Love is extremely active on social media. Her Instagram handle, @lovegillkalakaar, has over 354,000 followers, where she shares fashion looks, behind-the-scenes moments, music-video updates and glimpses of her Punjabi lifestyle. Brand collaborations are a significant part of her work alongside films and TV.
