Karisma Kapoor’s Children to Inherit Share of Sunjay Kapur’s ₹10,300 Crore Empire After His Sudden Death
Chandigarh, June 17, 2025 – Following the sudden demise of industrialist Sunjay Kapur on June 12, 2025, due to a heart attack during a polo match in London, a heated discussion has emerged regarding the division of his estimated ₹10,300 crore ($1.2 billion) estate. Kapur, the former husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, leaves behind a complex legacy, with his wealth likely to be distributed among his third wife, Priya Sachdev, their son Azarius, and his two children with Karisma, Samaira (20) and Kiaan (14).
As per reports, Karisma and Sunjay, who divorced in 2016, had already settled significant financial arrangements for their children. Kapur purchased bonds worth ₹14 crore, yielding ₹10 lakh monthly interest for Samaira and Kiaan’s upkeep, and transferred ownership of a family-owned house in Khar, Mumbai, to Karisma. These assets are expected to form part of the children’s inheritance, alongside a potential share of Kapur’s Sona Comstar empire, valued at ₹40,000 crore. However, no official confirmation of the will’s details has been released, and legal complexities due to Kapur’s U.S. citizenship may delay the process.
Sources indicate Kapur’s sisters may take over management roles at Sona Comstar, as none of his children are currently positioned to lead the company. The inheritance dispute has sparked public interest, with social media posts on X questioning the media’s focus on Kapur’s association with Karisma rather than his business achievements.
