Chandigarh, June 13, 2025 – Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor’s ex husband Sunjay Kapur, a prominent Indian industrialist , tragically passed away at the age of 53 in the United Kingdom on Thursday, June 12, 2025. According to sources, Kapur suffered a fatal heart attack while playing polo, a sport he was passionate about.

The incident occurred during a polo match, with reports suggesting a bee entered his mouth while he was riding, possibly triggering the heart attack. Despite immediate medical attention, Kapur could not be saved. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves through India’s business and social circles, where he was known for his charisma and love for equestrian sports.

Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar, a leading automotive components company founded by his late father, Surinder Kapur. He also served as the CEO of Sixt India and founded Five Rivers Hospitality Group.

Kapur was married to Karisma Kapoor from 2003 to 2016, and the couple has two children, Samaira and Kiaan. Their marriage ended in a high-profile divorce, marked by mutual allegations. Kapur later married Priya Sachdev in 2017, with whom he had a son, Azarias.
